While not as sleek and sexy as their SLC or EL counterparts, their light transmission is a whopping 96% vs 88-90% for the others.

This is because these use porro prisms as compared to roof prisms. Many people prefer porro prisms for a more "3D" view, higher contrast and greater depth of field. And these are the best porro prism binos on the market.

You get world class Swarovski optics for 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the SLC or ELs. This is the lowest price an authorized dealer can offer these for. Anything less should be a red flag and could put your warranty in jeapordy. Don't forget the sales tax savings.

These are leather armored, covering a very rugged aluminum alloy body. They are nitrogen-filled and waterproof.
