Sonically perfect in all respects, maintained by noted vintage Marantz expert Circle Audio in Austin, Texas and performing perfectly. Cosmetically, not totally mint -- slight blemishes on the wood (the most severe blemish I've included in a separate photo for your scrutiny). (The matching SM-11 has similar near-mint cosmetics and also performs beautifully, for any who choose to kill two birds with one stone as explained above).
Note that there are additional controls in the fold-down front panel not shown in my photo stream. This was the first Marantz device to have a CD input. It won a "Best Product" award in Japan in 1984 (as did the matching power amp).

Marantz's own description of this unit upon its release in 1984: "The SC-11 has been designed to complement the highest quality sources available today such as compact disc or MC phono cartridges. The unit amplifier is designed for minimum use of negative feedback. The phono equalizer of the NF-CR type, RIAA deviation is nil and the wideband overload character and transient response are further improved. The DIRECT switch allows the signal to bypass even the balance control to go direct to the amplifier input and transit only through the volume control which is of conductive plastic type. The output amplifier circuit operates in pure Class A. The tone control circuit is of low impedance negative feedback time for accuracy and high signal to noise ratio. The entire circuit uses push/pull configuration for low distortion and low noise. The circuit elements incorporate sound evaluated capacitors, metalized film resistors, low noise semi-conductors and glass epoxy PC boards. The copper plated rear panel carries also a scope output."
Astonishing performance out of this unit, and even more astonishing in conjunction with the matching SM-11 power amplifier. I use this pair to drive Vandersteen 5A speakers -- sonic perfection!
specs: 200 WPC into 8 ohms @ 20 Hz-20kHz, 300 WPC into 4 ohms @ 20 Hz-20kHz, < 0.008% THD at rated power into 8 ohm, < 0.008% IM distortion, damping factor 100, bandwidth 10 Hz - 100 kHz (+0, -1 dB).
