Why Buy A Motobatt Battery?
High load stresses are placed on your battery during the ignition cycle. Many bikes have hard wired headlights placing a lot of extra load on the battery. Motobatt\\\\\\\'s innovative design has been manufactured to overcome this.
Claims are made by different manufacturers about cranking capacity. In fact there is little advantage to be had from a battery that cranks harder than what is required to start your bike. Battery design is always a payoff . The more cranking you have the less Amp Hour capacity you get, and vice versa.
What is required is the ability for that battery to withstand repeated attempts to start your bike and how quickly it recovers. For the trail riders that have just done a creek crossing and drowned their bike, the link can be made. Simply if you don’t get it started the first couple of goes, your battery will fail. The same is said for trying to start Big Twins and Road Bikes after short bursts of operation.
Most motorcycles are vastly underdone in the battery department with a low amp hour battery expected to start a performance engine. This is mainly to save weight and find somewhere in the bike to put it. Motobatt has improved on conventional design by packing as much lead into our batteries as possible. Quality new lead and quality plates. Put simply, the more lead you have, the more available power you have. Many low-cost batteries are only cheaper for one reason: they have less lead and more filler in them. These types of batteries will leave you stranded!!
Motobatt\\\\\\\'s patented terminal design also has a shorter path for the current to follow from the plates to the terminal, resulting in solid cranking ability.
AGm Design
Absorbed Glass Matt batteries are superior by design and have been used in military and off-road applications for many years. The glass matt design has many benefits. Longevity and reliability Each plate in the battery is wrapped in a glass wool matting which keeps the plates separated in a cushioned environment. This stops the plates vibrating and causing faults between the plates which result in terminal failure. This also helps reduce the “mossing effect” that comes from plate sulphation migrating from one plate to another and creating a short. Sulphated lead particles are also unable to float around in the battery and cause shorting between plates as the acid solution is absorbed into the glass matt . Due to these and other advantages on the design, AGM batteries have a much lower discharge rate than wet flooded types. The ability for the battery to discharge down to 30% of its capacity and then recover repeatedly under a standard alternator charge is far superior. This cycle can be done many times. A standard wet cell battery is not capable of withstanding this type of cycling, without failure.
Motorcycles, Jet Skis, mowers etc. can all benefit from an AGm battery
These types of machines tend to have long periods of lying dormant without a charge running through the battery. Most people now use battery tenders to keep on top of this (they are a great idea and highly recommended). In cars it’s not as important as they tend to be driven every day, so in this environment a wet flooded cell battery is perfect as its being charged regularly.
Charging and Care
Your Motobatt is a Factory Activated battery. This means it is conditioned for optimum performance before it leaves the factory. It is a sealed unit so you do not have to mess with acid or top up. Whilst Motobatt’s have a very low discharge rate compared with conventional designs, from time to time you may need to charge your battery. Motobatt\\\\\\\'s must be charged by a charger that states it is designed for AGM batteries. That is it has to be “step charged” at a slow rate and brought back to full power gradually. Most late model quality chargers are capable of this. Check your charger manual for details. Warning Boost charging this battery on a high setting will damage the battery and void your warranty!!
