DESCRIPTION: Features as follows: Columns at each side of front door with carved-relief on each mid-portion, ornate wood scrolling appliqués on each top side of the picture frame door, top solid header-panel has curvature, original curved glass panels, original glass door, original mirror behind two upper shelves, original grooved shelves except bottom appears an old replacement(inconspicuous), claw feet, original brass door handle, working lock door, antique hanging large tassel. Original darker stain and vanish with "tiger" wood grain. Uncertain as to the type of wood. Our guess, could be mahogany or oak incorporated with veneer. I strongly feel this is an earlier piece due to the appearance of its original darker stain and varnish. At one point in its life, a former owner or original owner had placed brass hooks above the interior suggesting tea cups or the like were hung (can only be seen looking inside above). Measurements: About 70 inch Tall, about 50 inches Wide, 16 inches Deep. Condition: It is in good condition for its old age, sturdy with normal age wear. I note the following age flaws: original mirror has silvering streaks and/or hazy parts, left back bottom (inside) has moderate warping and a split-dent, a couple pieces of narrow border-trim missing at the bottom of glass on the left side and a piece at the right. Veneer has some wood chipping and surface-splits where curved to the side and yet intact. These are not so obvious due to the darker original stain and only noticeable when scrutinized. The back panel is original and in good condition. Ample photos were taken to give you a better gist. Item is as described, photographed and thoroughly inspected. Very seldom seen in large scale and often times not for sale. I personally like the simple classic presence of this, tall "columns" on each side of the door and darker original stained varnish. This Grand ol' piece would make a remarkable and wonderful asset in an antique or Victorian decorated home
